The truth is, I'd prefer we met each other at a friend's party, or listening to stories at the Moth, or in line at the Film Forum, or contra dancing, but as we have not . . . .

I am really quite a regular fellow: moderately attractive, whimsical and practical, bookish and athletic, an ex told me last week that I still have strong hands and nice legs.

Shy in large crowds, but gregarious with friends, once you get to know me you'll see my true passions are live music, the arts, the out-of-doors, long languid evenings with friends (old and new) telling each other stories, and the slow sensual art of preparing a meal together.

My weekends are not spent watching sports on the tube. I will forever be in awe of Les Demoiselles d'Avignon. I've become quite fond of podcasts of Radio Lab, This American Life, Salt Radio, and similar fare. And, I think it would very nice to have a rowhouse with a backyard so we could grow roses and tomatoes and basil and throw fabulous summer parties.

I was born at an early age to a mother whom I had never met prior to my birth. over the years I became a force to be reckoned with in music, theater, and other fun activities. I have an awesome roommate and an awesome cat and love my current situation! I'd love to spend a year globe trekking and just roaming with a fun person. Music is the center of my life and I practice it in many, many different genres. I act on stage in musicals, sing in a band, have done choir, and will do anything music related that I can.

I frequently find myself hard to understand, but my summary is: I almost always have good intentions, but suffer from too few well executed plans.

I joined because I still believe in true love, in romance and in "happily ever after." I would rejoice at the opportunity to spend the rest of my life with my true soulmate, the one with whom I can share all of myself - emotionally, spiritually, and physically. I always get flustered when asked to exercise my ego. I don't feel comfortable quickly pidgeon holing myself. I speak 4.5 languages: English, Cantonese, Japanese, and Spanish. The half is Mandarin, and I understand various conversational Korean from my Korean chingus.

I've always thought of love and relationships in its fundamental sense as very simple. Be in a relationship if it makes you happy: happy in a different way or more so than in your normal life. Don't use love as a replacement, but as a supplement.

I'm more in the belief that it's less about what you do and more about the company you keep. I like karaoke, museums, video games, watching a movie, bars, trying new restaurants - but mostly all the enjoyment comes from who I do these things with and that's where the memories are made.

Life is nothing without passion. I am passionate and I'm drawn to others who are as well. Laughter is the best medicine, but I'm definitely more sarcastic funny than ha ha funny. Smart is sexy. I love meeting new and eclectic people; I think it helps to satisfy my natural curiosity. When I travel I always try and meet the locals because I think that's half the fun. I make friends really easily.

Having grown up surrounded by politics, I care about what's going on in the world around me. Cooking is one of my favorite hobbies and I consider my back issues of Gourmet magazine to be among my most prized possessions. I love to read, the Counting Crows, Vonnegut, and LOST. I love sports, especially baseball. After college I lived in Copenhagen Denmark for six months. I consider Copenhagen my second home and have a slight obsession with all things Danish. I hate coffee, but coffee ice cream is my favorite flavor.

Even though I'm not super religous, you should know right off the bat that being Jewish is very important to me as is finding a Jewish partner.

People are always asking me for directions in this city, it must mean I'm fairly approachable, or just happen to run into many lost people. Good thing I usually have an answer for them, or can easily reference my map on my iPhone.

When I was in high school I was voted Best Sense of Humor, which I have to say is one of my proudest awards to date, aside from lettering in Track & Field at the University of Michigan. When it comes to wit/sarcasm, I can roll with the best of them. And when it comes to sports, I can cheer/talk smack with the best of them. And when it comes to grammar, sometimes I use slashes for emphasis/fun.

So far, life has been pretty good to me. I finally moved to NYC which is hands down the best decision I ever made. I'm not very well-traveled internationally, which I hope to change in the very near future. I have the passport, just need the time and perchance, a travel buddy.

In the meantime, I spend my days enjoying this wonderful city, writing, playing as much volleyball as I can stand, going-with-the-flow, making sure my dog is well cared for, swiping good deals from Groupon, scoping comedy clubs, playing ping pong at Fat Cat, being a great friend, and avoiding anything with olives in it.

I love to travel and explore new places, be it flying across the ocean to enjoy an opera in a famous opera house in Germany or to admire unparallel beauty of Taj Mahal set against a gray unmoving mass of a sky; hiking around in Adirondacks or climbing glaciers of Sierra Nevada â?? it helps me appreciate the beauty all around us both of nature and man made wonders.

I am a sincere, albeit sarcastic, guy living in the East Village. I'm an Air Force brat, so I don't really hail from anywhere in particular. I went to middle school and high school in St. Louis, which where I set the record of living in one place the longest at 6 years. I hope to break that in New York City.
